Building an intuitive interface for AI agents

Nimbus allows users to build AI agents that handle customer communication across phone calls, SMS, email, and chat, from reception and lead qualification to support and appointment setting.

Over a three month collaboration, New Arc partnered closely with the Nimbus team to design their brand, product, and website, helping turn a technically powerful system into a clear and usable platform.

When we met Nimbus, the underlying technology was already in place.
The platform could orchestrate AI agents across multiple channels, handling conversations, logic, and automated actions. The challenge was not AI capability. It was clarity.

Many AI products remove interface in favor of chat. But infinite possibility creates confusion, not great user experience. Prompting is difficult, and most users do not know what to ask for or how to structure it.

Nimbus needed a product that did more than expose AI power. It needed to guide users through it.

This was a true 0 to 1 project with high ambiguity and a strong need for momentum. The founding team, who we had previously partnered with on Buoy, wanted a clear direction fast rather than endless exploration.

We started with a focused brand sprint, defining a bold visual direction built around a yellow palette and a modern, daring expression. Custom illustrations helped make abstract AI concepts visual and approachable, setting a clear foundation across product and marketing.

Over the next two months, we designed the entire Nimbus platform around structured interaction rather than chat only control. AI workflows were expressed through visual builders, clear states, and intentional constraints that guide users toward effective outcomes.

Prompting became part of a designed system, not a blank input. Alongside the product, we built a scalable design system and designed and built Nimbus’ marketing website in Webflow, ensuring clarity and consistency across the entire platform.
